If you’re a Texas practitioner with strong opinions about citation form, now’s your chance to be heard.

The Texas Law Review Editorial Board is gathering feedback for the next edition of Texas Rules of Form: The Greenbook and has opened a public comment period. The Editorial Board and its Greenbook Committee have specifically invited Texas Appellate Law Podcast listeners and others in our community to weigh in on current or proposed citation rules.

The Greenbook supplements The Bluebook with guidance on citation issues unique to Texas law. While much of its content mirrors The Bluebook, The Greenbook controls when there’s a conflict in how Texas authorities should be cited. Many Texas courts and law reviews rely on it, making it an important resource for lawyers, clerks, and editors working with Texas legal materials.

The editors are eager to hear from those of us in practice. Whether it’s how to cite opinions from the new Fifteenth Court of Appeals or other Texas-specific citation challenges, your insight can help shape the next edition.

The submission form is open and will remain available through April 9. Feedback is being reviewed on a rolling basis.

Let’s help update and improve a resource we all rely on. And yes—strong opinions (like what I share below) are welcome.
